 Veta and Bob have owned and managed two Bird only retail stores.
The first shop was opened in 1991 in an 1895 Victorian house in Lexington,
South Carolina. The second store followed in 1995 in Charleston, South Carolina.
Pet Product News publication selected her shops as "The Best Specialty Pet
Shop" in the U.S. in 1997. The following two years, 1998 and 1999, Veta
and Bob's shops were awarded "The Industry Service" award and for the
year 2000, have been awarded the "Best Competitive Action" award by Pet
Product News. This is the only specialty shop that has received four national awards by Pet Product News.
Veta and Bob are very "hands on" cage bird people. They also own a
5,000 sq. ft. breeding facility, raising everything from parakeets to macaws. They have
written for Bird Talk, Watchbird, and Bird Breeder magazines, and they have spoken at the
American Foundation of Aviculture and International Avicultural Society Conventions. Veta
has served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Parrot Breeders and Exhibitors, as
well as the Board of Directors of the International Avicultural Society. They have successfully exhibited several birds to Champion and Grand Champion status.
Their Senegal parrot was selected Best Parrot at the 1992 National Cage Bird Show, winning the
coveted Kellogg Award. Veta and Bob have earned the Supreme Exhibitor's Award from SPBE, along with an Avy Award for AFA. Shown here are just some examples of the great birds available at Click

we have made the decision not to blindly sell our babies. We put
much care and effort into nurturing these special creatures. That's
why we prefer to speak with anyone who wishes to purchase one of

species of parrots, except conures. We also offer amazons, caiques,
African greys, cockatoos, macaws. pionus, ringnecks, grass parakeets
and quakers. These are a few of the species that we handfeed and
rear with special care. We are very successful
in shipping birds and have knowledge in exporting parrots. We do
not ship or sell unweaned babies.
